We got surprised. Vix's boyfriend came along and did it the old fashioned way. He asked Dave for her hand while she was away on holiday. I must admit I was a bit worried knowing my own daughter. I said I hope he has not bought the ring yet. He proposed the next day with a diamond the size of Manhattan upon her return. I said to her when she showed me and said she had 10 minutes to decide 'I hope that ring is on sale or return'
All is well and the wedding is arranged for Friday August 26th 2005 at Highbury Hall. It's a Victorian mansion in Birmingham that once was the home of Joseph Chamberlain. Wedding dress is paid for and the deposit on the hall paid. You would not believe what a pain in the bank account this all is. I said 60 sit down guests max. We now have a list of 95 that simply must be invited!! To be continued........
